🚍 Safety Drill Update for Our Families
Today, our students participated in a bus evacuation drill in partnership with Camden Military Academy as part of our ongoing commitment to student safety. During this drill, our students did not leave campus.
In the event of severe weather, Camden Military Academy will send buses to our campus to safely transport students to Malvern Hill Baptist Church, where they can shelter securely.
During today’s drill, students:
✔️ Learned proper bus safety and etiquette
✔️ Practiced boarding and exiting the bus
✔️ Became familiar with expectations to help ensure a smooth, calm process if this plan is ever needed
We are proud of how well our students did and grateful to our community partners for helping us keep safety a top priority.

An important letter from our Board of Directors has been sent to all current families regarding an upcoming change—HCAK will be transitioning to a new school name.
This transition comes as our current authorizer, Limestone Charter Association, closes due to the closure of Limestone College. As we move forward, we are pleased to be partnering with the Charter Institute at Erskine, one of the largest and fastest-growing authorizers in South Carolina, and entering a new chapter for our school.
While this change marks a significant moment in our school’s history, it also brings new opportunities for continued growth, stability, and success. We are confident in the path ahead and the strong foundation that will continue to support our students, staff, and families.
We are grateful for your continued support and partnership as we move through this transition together, and we look forward to all that the future holds for our school community. 💙

Our GATE students celebrated Pi Day by putting their memories to the test in a fun Pi digit reciting contest! Students competed to see who could remember the most digits of π and then enjoyed some delicious pie to celebrate.
